About Us

What we offer

Beehive Day Nursery is registered to provide care for 46 children aged 0 – 5 years.
We also run a holiday club for primary school aged children during school holidays.

Opening hours

We are open from 8am to 6pm, weekdays, for 51 weeks each year, closing for five working days over the Christmas and New Year period.

A professionally qualified team

Our key team of early years practitioners are all qualified in children’s care and education.  We are committed to ongoing professional development and believe a well-qualified team can provide a high quality service for families.

Unique Learning Journeys

Exciting activities, appropriate for children’s ages and stages of development are planned to extend each child’s learning and development, supporting the natural disposition of each child to explore and discover in a safe and challenging way.  We document children's experiences and achievements and track their progress in their Tapestry online Learning Journey which parents/carers can access, and contribute to, at any time.

Enabling environments

Children up to two years have their own comfortable and cosy room where they can follow the same familiar routines as they would at home.  Activities and resources are planned with the very youngest children in mind.  We maintain a ratio of one adult to every three children.

The Toddler Room is for children aged two years and is designed to support their rapidly developing skills, language and physical abilities.  The Toddler Room has one adult to every four children.

Both the babies and toddlers use the safe, enclosed garden, well-equipped with a sandpit, large space to play with both bark and grass surfaces, a vegetable garden and a large decked area.

Our Pre-school Room is a hive of activity.  Children aged three to five years have lots of space with direct access to the garden, enabling children to choose whether they play indoors or outside.  With the support of adults, children are encouraged to be independent, choose their own activities and gain a love of learning that will prepare them for school.  The Pre-school Room ratio is one adult to every eight children.

Healthy meals and snacks

We provide a freshly prepared, hot lunch which is cooked for us at the local primary school.  Breakfasts and teas are cooked on the premises and are offered at a nominal cost.  All meals and snacks are planned and prepared with nutrition and children’s needs in mind.  Snacks and drinks are provided free of charge.
